When I first saw blurry leaked renders of this Rolex, I thought it was a regular old tiger’s eye dial. You could barely make out the detail of the stone, and that was my reference point. To be blunt, I think that would’ve been a more attractive choice than what this is, but we have to play the hand we’re dealt. What we were dealt was the perfect replica Rolex GMT-Master II 126715CHNR watches — the Root Beer GMT — with a dial made from tiger iron. It’s perhaps the most interesting stone dial I’ve seen used on a watch, and in person, my keen interest was more than warranted.

You’re probably already familiar with not only the look but the fit of the best fake Rolex GMT-Master II watches — it’s a mainstay in the brand’s catalog and by now everyone has seen photos and most have handled one. The 18k Everose Root Beer variant adds some weight thanks to the gold, but the dimensions remain the same (never mind whether or not such a tool watch should even be made in any gold). The 40mm watch wears well on the wrist (especially if you’re allowed to size it…) and the tactility of the Triplock screw-down crown and the bezel are unrivaled in watches. Rolex has simply perfected those components and there’s no use in arguing otherwise. The black and brown 24-hour Cerachrom insert on the bidirectional bezel has become so expected as to not warrant comment, and yet I will comment: it lends a vintage feel to the entire watch and seems like it only belongs on a full Everose watch (though you can judge the point latter for yourself. ) The luxury replica watches are rated to 100m water resistance is of course paired with an Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock folding clasp and toolless Easylink extension system.

But what about that Swiss made replica Rolex watches with tiger iron dial? First and foremost, tiger iron is a semi-precious gemstone [read: rock found in the ground and polished up real nice] composed of tiger’s eye, red jasper, and black hematite. It’s natural variegation ensure that every dial will be unique, which I suppose adds something special to it (brands really like to tell people about this intrinsic, obvious quality of stone dials). There’s plenty to be said about this dial, most of it snarky. I heard one former EMT suggest they’d encountered plenty of situations that had a similar appearance, and for my part, it initially reminded me of lava planet of Mustafar in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, where Anakin Skywalker is finally and fully lost to the Dark Side afteran epic lightsaber battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi. In both cases, not the best first impressions. Here’s what I can say about the dial in person. With it’s polish surface and intense striation, different colors pop in different light. There are bits of brown and yellow and red and gray and even green that flash for moments and then blend back in, and it’s just that unpredictably dynamic display that makes multi-colored stone dials special.
As with all modern GMT-Master II’s, the high quality copy watches are powered by Rolex’s automatic Caliber 3285. This movement affords the watch “flyer” GMT functionality, with a 12-hour hand that can be independently adjusted for local time. It provides 70 hours of power reserve at 28,800 vph, has Rolex’s patented Chronergy escapement, Parachrom hairpsring, and Paraflex shock absorbers, and is certefied by Rolex as a Superlative Chronometer, ensuring -2/+2 seconds per day of accuracy.

This dial is a blend of what I’m confident are objectively ugly colors, but perhaps they’re so unattractive they become attractive or at least cool? The light play is a treat, but one that can be achieved on other stone dial cheap super clone watches, like the Formex Essence Malachite or the Ulysee Nardin Diver Atoll. Ultimately, I think this watch relies on initial intrigue and novelty rather more than anything else, and after handling it and spending time with my thoughts, I think those things are ephemeral. I expect most people will buy this simply because it’s different (and a Rolex). As we mentioned in our new release write-up, the price premium over the white gold meteorite GMT-Master II is directly attributable to the use of tiger iron for the dial.
